Product Overview
XGE-920 is a water-based acrylic-epoxy anti-rust primer designed for anti-corrosion protection of steel structures. It provides excellent adhesion and salt spray resistance for outdoor applications including telecom towers, power transmission towers, and steel frameworks.
Water-based formulation with VOC <50 g/L. Manufactured under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certified quality management systems.
Surface Preparation
New Steel
- Degrease to remove oil, grease and contaminants (SSPC-SP1)
- Abrasive blast clean to Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1) / SSPC-SP10
- Surface profile: 40 - 75 μm (Rz)
- Remove all blast dust and debris before painting
- Apply primer within 4 hours of blasting
Maintenance / Recoating
- Remove all loose rust, old paint, and contaminants
- Power tool clean to St 3 (ISO 8501-1) minimum
- Feather edges of existing sound coating
- Spot-prime bare steel areas with XGE-920
- Ensure surface is dry, clean, and dust-free
